I have the iPhone clones / Imports from China for a while now, and they are always referred to only as "smart phones, because they are tons of popular features in a small cell phone. Recently, however, the term "smart phone" productivity features like WiFi, GPS and Windows Mobile included so that you can read, edit, e-mail and edit documents away from your desk, Rimm Blackberry or Nokia N95 style.
For the longest time that the Chinese came closest to these clones was inthe shape of the T68, a BlackBerry Curve tee that featured Windows Mobile. Also, the CECT N95 (the Nokia N95 Feierabend) was missing, GPS and WiFi.
